Facilities

We are very proud of our ‘home from home’ atmosphere – a home where residents can remain, unless requiring specialist or nursing care, to the end of their lives. Adding to this ‘home from home’ atmoshphere, is the fact that we have animals on site, from our birds and fish to the cats you will often find sleeping on  chairs throughout the home.

We have 51 bedrooms, 8 of which have en suite toilet facilities. All the lounges are on the ground floor with all but 9 bedrooms on the first and second floor accessed by two lifts.

Each lounge has its own dining area equipped with a milk kitchen and places in each lounge are allocated according to ability and cognition of each resident. However all residents are free to walk around and are not restricted to one lounge. Find out more about our lounges here.

There are two pretty outside spaces which are within the home and therefore secure, which residents and families enjoy.

All the walkways have grab rails and all surfaces are flat and wheelchair accessible including the many walk in showers, toilets and assisted bathrooms.

We have bath, shower and toilet facilities around the home for communal use and these are kept clean and fresh at all times, and en-suite facilities in some bedrooms.

The hallways are colour coded as part of our robust fire regulations and all residents have an individual evacuation plan. The staff have regular fire drills and there is at least one fire warden on each shift both day and night.

The home is decorated in light pastel shades to promote a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere, and the furniture is comfortable and accessible with some reclining chairs, footstools and many small moveable tables.

Whilst residents are supplied with all the furniture they will need, they and their families are encouraged to personalise their rooms with photographs, memorabilia and ornaments, to ensure it is a home from home.
